Known to all is that an awning is a heat insulator, but this property has a number of advantages in your home that are very important to know.
This is so, that in the medium or long term the correct installation of an awning can even imply an energy saving at home far greater than the cost of the awning. This is because the proper placement of an awning becomes a perfect heat insulator inside the home.
Many of our clients do not only seek sun protection, but also regulate the temperature of their home in summer, thanks to external awnings without the need for cooling devices. Energy savings at home and the environment will appreciate it.
TIPS TO SAVE LIGHT WITH A AWNING
- Awning in your solarium. If you have a solarium in the attic of your single-family home, do not hesitate, placing an awning on it will give you “enormous” light savings day after day. Much of the heat felt at home is due to the heat radiating from both the wall and the terraces.
Today, the vast majority of air conditioning devices calibrate the ambient temperature and, based on this, supply more or less air where more air at more light expense.
- Awnings on terraces or windows. It seems logical that this reduces the sensation of heat, but what is not usually assessed is the impact of hot air.
In the east, summer temperatures are common, characterized by hot air. An awning also prevents that hot air from directly impacting these surfaces and thus preventing “and a lot” the temperature from rising in our home.
- Awnings on facades. Oddly enough, the facade protects us from the external temperature but the awning protects it. The placement of an awning in the part of the facade that has the most daily exposure to the sun will give us daily energy savings.
More than proven studies show that an adequate structure of awnings at home can cause a reduction in the home of up to 10ºC, causing enormous energy savings in summer.
