Protecting ourselves from UV rays is one of the goals we must set when the nice weather arrives and we like to sunbathe, especially to maintain good health. Exposing ourselves to this radiation and ignoring its levels can cause very serious skin problems, even in the most serious cases it can even cause cancer.
You must take into account the UV radiation rates, always with a scale parameter from 1 to 11. If the climatological indicators are between 1 and 2, you can remain outdoors without risks. With levels between 3 and 7 it is necessary to use a moderate protection and if it exceeds the indicator 8, it is necessary to avoid exposing oneself.
Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., avoid doing outdoor activities in March and April. As recorded in many historical archives, radiation levels can reach up to 10 points.
You have to choose fresh and long-sleeved clothes on days when there is enough sun. In this way we will protect the skin of our body, but we must also resort to hats and quality sunglasses.
If you have fair-skinned, do not expose yourself more than 10 minutes to the sun if protection is not used. If the skin is darker, you can be 20 minutes, but it is advisable to use a quality protector, the higher, the better. It is best to use a broad spectrum protector against UVA and UVB, with a sun protection factor greater than or equal to 30.
On days that are very sunny, excessive exposure as well as sources of radiation such as a tanning lamp may increase the risk of skin cancer.
