It was at the Unesco General Conference on July 29, 2005 that World Philosophy Day was proclaimed on the third Thursday of November each year. In 2020 it is November 19.
In said conference the importance of this discipline was highlighted, especially for young people, underlining that “philosophy is a discipline that encourages critical and independent thinking and is capable of working towards a better understanding of the world and promoting tolerance and peace”.
Philosophy is the study of the nature of reality and of existence, of what is possible to know, and of correct and incorrect behavior. It comes from the Greek word phílosophía, which means “the love of wisdom.” It is one of the most important fields of human thought, since it aspires to reach the very meaning of life.
“”Philosophy teaches us to reflect on reflection itself, to continually question established truths, to verify hypotheses and to find conclusions. For centuries, in all cultures, philosophy has given birth to concepts, ideas and analyzes that have laid the foundations of critical, independent and creative thinking “..
The ability to present an idea is so much important as the idea itself. (Aristóteles).
We should try to be the parents of our future rather than the descendants of our past. (Miguel de Unamuno).
At Toldos Guardamar we attach great importance to Philosophy and we apply it in everything we do. We are a living company that cares about what happens in the world while we try to be a little more human every day. Now, in these times, this way of being and thinking should make us all reflect on whether we can do better. And we are sure that it is.
