If you have not done your sports routines for a long time and you want to return to them, a formidable idea to do it is Plogging. Maybe it sounds a very strange name but it is a very beneficial physical activity, both for the body and for the environment.

What is Plogging?

In Toldos Guardamar we always like to inform you about the latest trends and about this one, we can say that it is a new sport that was born in Stockholm and which combines running and love for the environment. It consists of going out to run with a bag and go picking up the waste that one finds during his journey.

The name of Plogging comes from the union of the English word running and the Swedish expression ‘plocka upp’, whose meaning is to pick up.

This trend has been evolving in many countries of northern Europe as well as in the United States and it is a trend that is increasing and that every day has more and more followers.

According to the most veteran ploggers, you can burn around 300 calories with only half an hour of practice, because it is an exercise that combines running with squats every time you go to collect a waste. In fact, there are already many competitions to see who picks up the most garbage in the least possible amount of time.

Its success has meant that its practice has gone beyond the limits of running and not only riders have joined, but also those who go out by bicycle or those who practice other cardiovascular sports as well as those who love the environment.

You know that running brings many benefits to the body, improves lung capacity, resistance, respiratory and circulatory system and now with this exercise, in addition to gain in health, will improve the environment that surrounds us.
