Unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 20 November 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history. Its guidelines come from the International Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which also celebrates a new anniversary on 20 November, which is why this date is considered by the UN as Universal Children’s Day.
As you will know as followers or customers, in Toldos Guardamar we are a company very aware of both environmental and social issues and therefore for us the Day of the Child is also a date marked on our calendar. The right of children to health, education and protection is vital, regardless of where those children were born, for the world to function better.
Children are vulnerable and must be protected by society, the future of everything we work for and everything our ancestors have worked for depends on children. Guaranteeing them a quality of life and collaborating in their well-being and development is a goal that should be set by all countries, which is why solidarity and human support play a key role in achieving it.
There are many children who are in very unfavourable situations and need our help. There are different ways to collaborate with the Day of the Child, the simplest way is to look for an NGO whose work is focused on improving the situation of children and contribute our grain of sand. There are many, surely you will find one in which you feel like collaborating, you can donate money, toys, food … and you can even help in a more active way. The possibilities are many and the result is as gratifying as a child’s smile.
