Children who grow up with pets not only grow happier but also reduce their chances of having allergies. In Toldos Guardamar we love to keep you informed of many details of the home like this, so that you are encouraged to have pets if you have small children in your home.

Children and pets, a great tandem

Over time, many children can develop a large number of allergies, such as those that are caused by animals. It is paradoxical but it is known that those babies who live with dogs and cats from very early ages, are less likely to have allergies or even develop them for the rest of their lives.

There are many studies that reveal that those children who live with animals are less likely to suffer allergies, although, yes, the animals must be under the same roof while the child is a baby. A study ensures that those children born in homes free of dogs and cats, are twice as likely to be allergic.

The exposure of babies to pets at any time after the first year of life seems to have no real effect on the risk of being able to manifest allergies. This shows that time can be essential in relation to the different processes of prevention of childhood allergies.

The reason why it is advised to expose children before the first year to animals is because their early contact with allergens that have pets and bacteria related to them, directly favor the immune system of the smallest of the home.

In addition, the body accustoms them to allergens and helps them to develop an immunity of natural origin, resulting in less chance of suffering allergies when they grow older.
