Although there are a large number of medications to prevent the cold, there is no one that eliminates it quickly, only reduce their symptoms until it finally disappears. In spite of this, it never hurts to know what are the steps that must be taken to take care of ourselves when we have a cold.
In this article we want to share with you some advice, in case you already have a cold, so that you can take care of yourself properly and you can leave behind this episode as soon as possible, avoiding long waits or relapses.

How to take care of yourself if you have a cold?

The most important thing is not to go out, or do it only whenever is necessary and with good warm clothes, gloves and scarf, especially in the winter season. If you can, it is best to stay at home, warm up and rest in a warm environment.

In case of fever, it is best to rest with light clothes and the intake of a lot of liquid such as water, tea, etc. is highly recommended. You can also place cloths of warm water on the forehead to reduce a little the sensation of heat that is usual in febrile states.

If your throat hurts, you can take some candy to soften it and so you will not get irritated in case of cough or if it get scratchy. A specific cough syrup can also be used. Paracetamol is very useful for fever and pain, with about six hours of separation between each intake. If you have asthma, the best thing you can do is use the inhalers and avoid both products that carry eucalyptus and aspirin.
