The International Day of Forests is celebrated on March 21 of each year, according to the UN General Assembly approved in 2012.
This date was chosen because March 21 coincides with the entry of spring in the boreal hemisphere and with that of autumn in the southern hemisphere, and its main objective is to create awareness in man of the importance of caring for and preserving all forest areas of the planet and with it the survival of all species.
We know that forests represent a good lung for the entire Earth. Currently they comprise a third of the entire earth’s surface, spread over millions of extensions throughout the world, and there are a large number of them that are protected and have been declared a World Heritage Site.
A great variety of plant and animal species live in them, which are part of the natural balance of the entire ecosystem that inhabits the Earth.
Forests provide human beings with a series of benefits, ranging from drinking a simple glass of water to the home we inhabit. Many of the jobs we do have something to do with forests. In addition to being the primary source from which all the food, clothing, shelter and medicines that man needs to survive are extracted, they also have an important role in the climate change that the Earth suffers.
* Recycling.
* Avoid cigarettes.
* Avoid lighting bonfires and bonfires.
* Seed plants or trees.
From Toldos Guardamar we want to raise awareness that, taking care of our forests, we take care of our home. And that, like this past 2020 they have breathed a little better due to the restrictions of the Pandemic, we think that it can be done without the need for us to have to stop everything. We just have to change our habits towards a cleaner world.
