Although we do not know for sure since when and how World Relaxation Day arose, the truth is that for some years this celebration has become popular and the fact that it falls on many people’s summer holidays, August 15th, makes it the ideal time of year to pamper ourselves even for a day.
In today’s world, stress is one of the main triggers for diseases such as high blood pressure, heart problems, obesity and even diabetes. If within our daily or weekly routine, we do not dedicate time to disconnect from work and from all the factors that can cause stress, this will most likely take its toll. This is the main reason that a whole day is dedicated to relaxation in the world.
Any rest that we offer to our body and especially to our mind, allows us to reorder the functions and biological processes of our organism. In simple words, every time we relax, the same thing happens in our computer’s operating system when we reset it. Our entire processor, which would be the organism, thoroughly analyzes each of our processes, correcting errors and helping us to reorganize ourselves both physically and mentally, just as it happens every night each time we reach REM sleep, which is the phase in which we effectively dream and purify our brains of all the information that disturbs and is not useful to us.
